LEWISTON - Yvette V. Daigle, 86, of Schooner Estates, Auburn, formerly of 149 Oak St., Lewiston, died Thursday, May 8, at d'Youville Pavilion, where her loving family has been at her side for the last week.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 9, 1921, the daughter to the late Felix and Medora (Grenier) Vermette. She was educated for a short time in Berlin, N.H., and later in Lewiston. She married the love of her life, Maurice Daigle, on May 3, 1943, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

Together they owned and operated a grocery store and later started Maurice Daigle Plumbing & Heating. She loved to spend time with her family, whether it was just visiting with them or going out to eat for dinner. She was always very interested in the lives of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the ocean, snowmobiling and camping, where she made many friends.

She leaves her husband of 65 years, Maurice, of Auburn; two daughters, Shirley Paradis and her husband, Raymond, of Glendale, Ariz., and Claudette Heutz and her husband, Normand, of Lewiston; a son, Ronald Daigle and his wife, Carmelle, of Lewiston; nine grandchildren, Kenneth Paradis, Raeann Krallis, Gregg Paradis, Michelle Alexander, Scott Paradis, John Heutz, Sandra Heutz-Lee, Steven Daigle and Thomas Daigle; 14 great-grandchildren; and one more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to the staff at d'Youville on 2 West and 4 East, the staff at Androscoggin Hospice and Dr. Betty Kennedy for the wonderful care they gave to Yvette and her family during these most difficult times.
