FARMINGTON - Eva Arlene (Davenport) Rich, 81, of Rangeley, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a short illness on May 7, at Edgewood Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 16, 1927, on the family farm in Rangeley, where she came to live after the death of her husband, a daughter of Walter and Eva Davenport. She received her education in Rangeley schools and was a devoted homemaker who also enjoyed clerking at the Rangeley IGA and running a bakery from her home for many years.

She was a gentle person of humble origins, who found much enjoyment in nature while hunting and fishing with her husband and son. Her life's passion was quilting and she completed many hand sewn quilts in her lifetime. She was a life long member of the Reed Mill's Quilting Circle. The ladies met twice a month for social contact and quilting and their finished quilts were given away or sold as the times warranted.

She is survived by her twin sister, Carlene Miller, and sisters, June Plummer and Eleanor Guevremont, all of Rangeley.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wilmont Rich; her only son, Roger Rich; her parents; three brothers, Walter "Skeet," Richard and William; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Sarah.
