LEWISTON - Evelyn M. Thomas, 73, of Lewiston, died May 8, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Walter D. Thomas.
She was born June 23, 1934, in Quincy, Mass., the daughter of the late Paul A. and Alberta (Landry) Murphy and was a 1952 graduate of Waltham Massachusetts High School. A self-employed tailor, she served as a volunteer at Central Maine Medical Center and Houlton Regional Hospital. A lover of nature, she was widely known for her congenial personality and sense of humor.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Paul E. Murphy of Nevada; a daughter, Ruth Patrick and her husband, Robert; and four grandchildren, all of Massachusetts. |
