Preschool receives accreditation
Saturday, May 10, 2008
OXFORD - The Child Health Center's Child's Care Center and Preschool, located in Oxford, has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals. The center serves children from infants through sixth grade.
To earn this accreditation, a program conducts a study to determine how it will meet the standards. After necessary improvements are made, the program is observed by independent, professional validators and then reviewed by a national panel. Programs are accredited for five years. Families who send their children to the Child Health Center's child care facility are eligible for double child care credit on their Maine tax return because of this accreditation.
The Child Health Center has been working with children and their families throughout Oxford County for more than 30 years. It is a nonprofit organization.
