Maine Arts Commission seeks public artwork
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
The Maine Arts Commission is making a call to professional artists who live or work in Maine to submit proposals to design, execute and install artwork at the University of Southern Maine's Lewiston-Auburn College, Percent for Art site. Total project budget is $30,000, and the deadline for submissions is May 30, 2008.
Maine's Percent for Art law reserves 1 percent of the construction funds for all state-funded building projects to provide artwork for the public areas of these buildings.
All professional artists who live or work in Maine may apply for consideration for this project. Preference will be given to artists who are Maine residents. Artists who are employees of the University of Maine and Maine Community College Systems are ineligible for Percent for Art projects at the location where they are employed. Contact Kerstin Gilg, public art associate, with questions at 287-6719, kerstin.gilg@maine.gov, 877-887-3878 TTY or via NexTalk.Net UserID: kerstingilg. |
