SCORE offers workshop for startups
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Aimed at new business start-ups, L-A SCORE and the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce will offer a workshop "Your Business Plan and Financing" at the chamber's community room on Thursday, May 22, from 1 to 4 p.m.
If you have a business idea, you will need a workable business plan to help you get where you're going.
The business plan, a document required by lenders, also enables the new entrepreneur to plan a company in an organized fashion and to look realistically at what the demands on a business owner will be. A well-written business plan helps to raise needed money and guides the development of the business.
Facilitators for the SCORE workshop will be Greg Gould from AVCOG/Small Business Development Centers, providing the components and organization of a successful business plan; SCORE counselor Maurice Ouellette in a discussion of the financial exhibits that support the plan; and SCORE counselor Elizabeth Hoy, retired bank loan officer, who will provide information required to generate needed financing for the new enterprise.
To register for "Your Business Plan and Financing," contact the chamber at 783-2249. The fee is $25 for individual attendees with a 10 percent discount for additional partners. |
