Raymond, Gibson combine for shutout

AUBURN - Evan Raymond and Bryce Gibson combined for the shutout to lead HRH past Hardy, Wolf & Downing, 9-0, in Auburn Suburban Little League (ASLL) action.

Gibson and Raymond also were repeat hitters along with Brian Crane, Zack Hurd and Mason Bosse. Travis Lowell and Brandon Bennett did the pitching duties for HWD. Brandon Dubuc delivered multiple hits.

Norcross belts home run, strikes out 11 in win

AUBURN - Kory Norcross struck out 11 hitters to go with a home run and a single at the plate, leading Gee & Bee to a 10-8 win over Rotary in Auburn Suburban Little League Major girls' softball.

Makayla Norcross went 3-for-3 while Tianna Harriman and Ashlee Arnold both ripped two hits for Gee & Bee.

Kennedy Hubbard pitched a great game for Rotary and was 2-for-3 with the bat.

Margaret Foggarty also was a repeat hitter.

East Auburn wins opener

East Auburn celebrated Opening Day with a 2-0 win over HRH.

East Auburn scored both runs without the benefit of a hit, capitalizing on walks.

HRH recorded two hits. Brian Crane and Bryce Gibson each singled.

Corey Henderson and Llewellyn Jensen combined for the win, while HRH pitchers Crane, Evan Raymond and Gibson combined on the unusual no-hitter.

Dillingham doubles up

AUBURN - Dillingham and Son launched the ASLL Minor division season with a pair of wins in the past week.

After Mayor John Jenkins threw out the ceremonial first pitch, Dillingham dropped Hammond Lumber, 5-3. Bryce Ledger and Benjamin Feldman collected three hits each for the winners. Brady Gosselin went 1-for-2 for Hammond.

Dillingham and Son cruised past Enefco, 11-0, after breaking the game open in the third inning. Sam Rideout and Joseph Leavitt each were 3-for-3. For Enefco, Ben Corsey and Curtis Ouellette both went 1-for-2.

Lewiston blanks Bath

Pitchers Corbin Hyde and Matt Bowen allowed only one hit as Lewiston beat Bath 2-0 in 8th grade baseball.

Corbin also had two doubles and two RBI. Ben Chicoine and Shawn Ricker had Lewiston's only other two hits. Bath starter Ted Cole pitched 3 shutout innings, and Zach Grant had the lone Bath hit.

Butcher cuts Crystal Springs down to size

AUBURN - Pepsi's Kelsey Butcher fanned nine in four innings and combined with Emily Schario in a 14-2 victory over Crystal Springs in ASLL softball.

Emily Bolduc hit a home run and Molly Murray contributed with a double and single.

Caite Williams and Alexis Ouellette each hit a single for Crystal Springs. Hannah Delong started the game on the mound and was relieved by Amanda Williams.

Auburn Twilight tryouts

AUBURN - Auburn's Twilight League baseball team will hold its tryout Sunday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at the ASLL complex.

Tryout fee is $10. Jorin Bunyea of Central Maine Community College is the head coach. FMI, contact Bunyea at 346-1031 or Nick Caiazzo of Frozen Ropes Training Center at 878-2600.
