Ogunquit cast will roast Broadway players

OGUNQUIT - The Ogunquit Playhouse will present "Forbidden Broadway," a riotous parody of popular Broadway shows, for five performances this Memorial Day Weekend.

The comical show spoofs show tunes, characters and plots of classic and current Broadway musicals. New York's longest running musical comedy revue, "Forbidden Broadway" and has won the Tony for Excellence in the Theatre, the Drama Desk, the Obie and Outer Critics Circle awards.

No one avoids its acid-tongued humor - famous Broadway actors, writers, composers, directors, choreographers and producers are all roasted.

Also in the Ogunquit Playhouse's summer season are performances of "Fiddler on the Roof," "The Producers," "My Fair Lady" and "Les Miserables," along with the New England premiere of the new rock 'n' roll musical "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," featuring the music of Neil Sedaka.

The Playhouse will also present Disney's "High School Musical" in weekend matinees once each month from June through September. The Children's Theatre lineup includes "Willy Wonka Junior;" "Fairy Houses the Musical," an original Playhouse production; "Treasure Island" and Disney's "Sleeping Beauty."
