May 28 GPS training still has few openings

FARMINGTON - There are still a few openings in the Wednesday, May 28, GPS class being hosted by the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District.
The class was added after the May 22 training filled, and a number of people were put on a waiting list for a future session.
The Maine Forest Service will train participants on the use of Global Positioning System from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roberts Learning Center, University of Maine at Farmington.
The event is being sponsored by the Upper Kennebec Branch of Small Landowners Association of Maine. The location of the class will be announced at the time of sign-up.
Registration deadline is Friday, May 23.
The Maine Forest Service has 25 GPS units that participants will use for the training. The class is limited to 25 people. Cost of the training is $15.
