Art show has sacred theme
Saturday, June 7, 2008
FARMINGTON - Eleven Maine artists have collaborated to present an art show with "Prayers and Meditations" as its theme in an intimate nontraditional space, the Holman Parish House.
Coming from different perspectives and traditions, the artists explore how to share their relationship to the sacred. Personal, profound and at times lighthearted, the works include painting, photography, collage, installation, sculpture and writing.
Participating artists: Jan Allen, Jeanne Bruce, Patricia Duane-Chin, Sheryl Elshout, Penny Hood, Susan Jenkins-Urban, Judith Krischik, Ellen Roberts, Susan Schell, Brownie Siegler and Dona Seegerss.
The art show will be from 1 to 3 p.m. June 14-15 and June 21-22, with an opening reception from 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15 in the parish house next-door to the Old South First Congregational Church, 238 Main St. |
