Curtain Raisers will unleash comic energy

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

FARMINGTON - The Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers Improv Comedy Troupe will deliver its third annual Last-Day-of-School Show at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the Farmington Grange.

After a one-night performance at ImprovBoston in Cambridge, Mass., the troupe is ready to bring its skills back home. This show marks the final show for members of the senior class at Mt. Blue High School. The event will also feature the official retirement performance of crowd favorite "Bartleby & Juniper."

The Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers performs a combination of improv games in the vein of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and longer, more extended scenes based on suggestions provided by the audience. No show is ever the same.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. at the Grange, next to the West Farmington post office. Admission is $3, with proceeds being split between the Curtain Raisers and the Grange. For more information, contact Curtain Raisers Artistic Director Dan Ryder at 778-3561 or dryder@msad9.org.
