JAY - Three candidates have applied to fill a vacant Jay School Committee term.
The board plans to interview Alan Labbe, Judy Diaz and Rebekah Hawes beginning at 4:30 p.m. Monday, in executive session during a special meeting at the middle school, Superintendent Robert Wall said Thursday.
They are planning 30-minute interviews with each of the applicants and then will select a representative, he said.
Following that meeting, the committee will meet with Jay's representatives to the school regional planning committee to update them on the changes to the state reorganization law, Wall said.
Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls residents on the regional planning committee have not met since November 2007.
A meeting is expected in the near future and the whole group will have to have a school reorganization plan to the Maine Department of Education well before the Jan. 30, 2009 referendum vote in each of the towns. |

He also represented the town well as a select person. He has been actively involved for many years and I for one am glad he would be willing to do it all again.
