BRUNSWICK - How can a little girl and the only "nice and jumbly" giant in Giant Country save the children of England from being eaten?

That's the big question behind "The BFG," a Roald Dahl production to be staged by The Theater Project's Theater Camp for Older Kids Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15-17.

Out of bed at midnight one night, Sophie creeps to the window and sees a giant figure poking about the second-floor windows across the street. When the BFG snatches Sophie, she is terrified that she will come to an ucky-mucky end; but, instead, she and her new friend come up with a plan to keep the children of the world from being gobbled up by the rest of the giants.

The pair's adventure takes them everywhere from Dream Country to Buckingham Palace, with time for a few giggle-making wizzpoppers in between.

During the three-week theater camp, youngsters use improvisational techniques and theater games to familiarize themselves with their characters and scenes.

"These actors have so much energy and imagination that we have all of them playing more than one part, making the story not just about Sophie and the BFG, but about the entire realm of possibilities within our imagination," said Theater Project actor and teacher Lee K. Paige, who directs this production.
