HARRISON - The final concert of the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival's 36th season of chamber music Tuesday, Aug. 12, will feature works of unusual contrast. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The program will begin with Fairy Tales for clarinet, viola and piano by Robert Schumann. Featured clarinetist in this work is Alan Kay, who has traveled worldwide as co-principal clarinetist with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and with his own quintet, Windscape. He performs frequently with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Trio Solisti and at Bravo! Vail. Joining Kay will be violist Laurie Kennedy, festival music director; and Boston Chamber Music Society pianist Mihae Lee.

Next on the program is Zoltán Kodály's Duo for Violin and Cello, replete with Hungarian folk idioms and embellished by virtuosic technical demands. This work, written by one of the great Hungarian composers of the 20th century, will be performed by violinist Jasmine Lin and cellist Bonnie Thron. Lin, a Curtis Institute of Music graduate and rising star in the chamber music world, is currently a member of the Chicago Chamber Musicians and a founding member of the Formosa String Quartet, which won the 2006 London International Competition. Thron is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music and performs as principal cellist of the North Carolina Symphony.

The final offering is the sextet of Ernö Dohnányi, another great Hungarian composer. It is scored for the unconventional grouping of clarinet, horn, strings and piano. Like the Kodaly Duo, this work is firmly rooted in Hungarian tradition, but is also influenced by other world music of the day, such as jazz. Lee is featured pianist. She will be joined by her husband, French hornist William Purvis, well-known soloist, chamber musician, conductor, educator and member of the New York Woodwind Quintet. Kay, Lin, Kennedy and Thron will round out the sextet to bring the festival to a rousing conclusion.
