A big factor

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Like many folks in my area, I commute 15 miles or more to my job, and heat my house with oil. This election, energy costs and renewable energy are big factors when choosing candidates. That's why David Van Wie will get my vote for Maine House of Representatives for District 105.

He has worked professionally in the energy field for more than 25 years. He has a background in renewable energy (wind, hydro, wood energy, conservation, solar, etc.) and will work to promote homegrown, renewable energy that keeps our energy dollars and jobs here in Maine. He also supports programs to encourage higher energy efficiency in buildings, vehicles and appliances.

Maine can produce clean green electricity and take a step toward energy independence. I would like you to become familiar with a renewable energy law that has been adopted by more than forty nations and is being considered by the States of Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Rhode Island, and California. The law for Maine is called the Maine Renewable Energy Sources Act, a feed-in tariff law. www.midcoastgreencollaborative.org www.wind-works.org www.worldfuturecouncil.org
