Saturday, August 16, 2008

FARMINGTON - A Livermore man accused of burglarizing 27 camps on Porter Lake in Strong and New Vineyard had his bail reduced by $5,500 Thursday after an appearance in court.

Shane Sturgeon, 21, is one of seven people accused of the June 16 and 17 burglaries.

Damage to the camps including broken windows was estimated at more than $100,000.

Sturgeon has been held on $7,500 bail since an appearance in court on June 25. It was reduced to $2,000 Thursday with the requirement that he enter into a pre-trial agreement that he will need to follow if he makes bail.

Sturgeon has remained at Franklin County jail in Farmington since his arrest June 23 and was still there Thursday evening.

Three juveniles and Timothy D. Lagasse, 18, of Farmington, Zachery R. Heath, 19, of Farmington, and Dylan Couturier, 18, of Livermore Falls also face charges in the case.

Too bad these Nerds probably have no way of ever paying back the people they have violated during their crime spree, I think lashings should be brought into the picture, and be done in public like the old Chinese days. It's quite obvious none of these Nerds have enough brain to even given a thought as to what they were doing when they were doing it. Scary. Full restitution along with some serious jail time would be my judgement.

Totally agree with you Ken but I don't think they would get "serious" jail time at Franklin. That place is run more like a daycare than a correctional facility.
