Christian rock band will play at Bull Moose

Thursday, August 21, 2008

WINDHAM - Touring nationally in support of its debut CD, "A New Abolition," the Christian rock band The Wrecking of Windham and Portland will make an appearance at the Bull Moose store Saturday, Aug. 23. The acoustic set beginning at 3 p.m. is free.

With "A New Abolition," The Wrecking, formerly known as The Kingpin Wrecking Crew, has cultivated an accessible sound. From the pounding anthem "Inside" to the earthy remake of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes," the CD is both gritty and smooth.

The Wrecking, known for interlocking hook-driven rock with urban grooves and futuristic adventurism, has navigated seamlessly between Christian and mainstream venues. Native to Maine, the band is affiliated with the Calvary Chapel Church.

Band members are Doug Elder, lead vocals and guitar; Darren Elder, drums; Karl Anderson, keyboards, bass and backing vocals; and Joe McCann, turntables, synthesizer, sampler and vocals.

Bull Moose is at 771 Roosevelt Trail.
