Cycle event to benefit hospital

Thursday, August 21, 2008

FARMINGTON - A Roar-In for motorcycles will be held Saturday at Wal-Mart. Motorcycle groups such as the United Bikers of Maine, the American Legion Riders and the Exiles, a group from the Mexico/Rumford area, have been invited to gather in the former Ames parking lot at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, said Peter Zamboni of Wal-Mart.

Once gathered, the riders will cross routes 2 and 4 to roar by the open doors of Wal-Mart at noon, he added. Then a time for machines, music and munchies is planned as live music will be provided by Randy and Travis Pinkham. There is no charge to enjoy the music, he said.

Grilled hot dogs will be available for $1 and employees of Wal-Mart will have homemade desserts available for donations.

Proceeds will be donated to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, he said.
