Karaoke, races, regatta in Fun Day lineup

Thursday, August 28, 2008

YARMOUTH - North Yarmouth Fun Day will take place Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6-7, rain or shine. Saturday, a full day of activities will take place on the Village Green on Route 115, adjacent to Wescustogo Hall. Highlights include two Fun Run "sprints" for adults and children, a karaoke contest, a horseshoe contest, a cribbage tournament, a pancake breakfast, food booths, children's games, crafts and information tables, entertainment by a cappella group Sidecar Heroes and a dog agility and training demonstration. The day will conclude with an old-fashioned bean supper and a teen dance in Wescustogo Hall.

Sunday, a regatta down the Royal River will commence at 11:30 a.m. at Wescustogo Park on Route 231 and end at Baston Park about 45 minutes later. Cider and donuts will be served to all - mariners and landlubbers. Participants must supply their own kayak or canoe, or call 829-5592 for "boat pooling."

For a full schedule of events and to register for contests, visit NYMEevents.com or call 221-0340.
