ACEC to meet

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

PORTLAND - The American Council of Engineering Companies of Maine will meet at 4 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Ri Ra Irish Pub and Restaurant, 72 Commercial St.

At 4:30 p.m., at the conclusion of the business meeting, Professor Charles Colgan of the University of Southern Maine and chairman of the community planning and development program in the Muskie School of Public Policy, will make a presentation on "Engineering as an Economic Growth Cluster Industry in Maine." Following his presentation, a dinner will be available.

The public is invited to Colgan's presentation.

To attend only the presentation, there will be a charge of $10 per person; to include dinner, the fee will be $40. To register or for additional information, contact Paul Lariviere, executive director of ACEC of Maine at 622-5714.

The ACEC of Maine is an association of engineering firms. There are 53 firms that are members, with 1,260 employees.
