Lewiston Ice Dawgs tryout Sunday

LEWISTON - The Lewiston Middle School Ice Dawgs hockey team of the Southern Maine Middle School league will hold a one-hour tryout at 7:50 a.m. Sunday at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Any boy or girl in grades 5-8 attending any school in Lewiston or Sabattus is eligible to try out. Please report by 7:15 a.m. There is a $20 non-refundable tryout fee that must be paid prior to tryouts. Please pre-register with USA Hockey online or bring a copy of your USA registration receipt to the tryout.

The season consists of roughly 16 games with several practices during the year.

Hunter safety course

HARRISON - A hunter safety course will be sponsored by the Western Maine Fish and Game Club at Harrison Fire Station on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Sunday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Students must attend both days to receive the certification. Students must be at least 10 years old, and those 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Class size will be limited to 40 students. A $3 donation will be required per student. For more information, call Chuck at 583-6283 or Jody at 595-2211.
