Maine women pleased at Palin nomination
Sunday, September 7, 2008
PORTLAND (AP) - Many Maine women say they're pleased at the vice presidential nomination of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, even if they disagree with her politics.
Casey Beaudoin backed Hillary Clinton for president and is not a Republican. But she's the mother of two girls, and wants them to see that they can achieve anything.
Susan Feiner, director of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Southern Maine, says the idea of putting a woman with five kids on the ticket would have been unthinkable 10 years ago. She says Palin's nomination shows that women's progress is reaching the highest levels of political life. |

LOL You vote for the person or persons you feel will do the best job for the United States. I am voting for McCain/Palin because I feel they are the most qualified for the job. Obama has no real experience and Biden has been under Bush for so long his ways won't change....

Minnie Mouse for president. Wait, I've got a female dog, 6 years old-42 in human years, perhaps she'd make a better VP than Palin. Better looking, too. Now, see how silly this all sounds?..........

It's insulting! McCain chose on beauty, not experience.
I don't care what anyone says. The President or VP cannot do thier job, maintain a marriage AND raise 5 children - one being special needs.
One of those will go without and suffer.....
