Harrison man, grandson hurt in Route 26 wreck
Monday, October 13, 2008
OXFORD - A Harrison man and his grandson suffered head injuries Saturday morning when their car left Route 26 and rolled over in woods south of the Advent Christian Church.
Todd May, 47, of 72 Deer Hill Road in Harrison was passing another southbound vehicle when he lost control of his 2001 Ford Mustang about 9:45 a.m., Oxford police Officer Alan Coffin said. Riding with May was his 10-year-old grandson, whose name was not released.
Both suffered head injuries and were flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where they were treated and released later Saturday, the investigator said.
Both were wearing seat belts, the officer said. The car was demolished and landed about 100 feet into woods on the southbound side of the highway.
Route 26 was closed for more than two hours and rescue, fire and police personnel helped the injured pair. Lt. Michael Dailey of the Paris Police Department reconstructed the accident, which remains under investigation. Also assisting were Norway police officer Warren Ellsworth and Maine State Police Trooper Andre Paradis. |

Posted By:sheesh at October 13, 2008 8:34 AM (Suggest Removal) Since when is there a passing zone in front of the Advent Christian Church? I've been through that area thousands of times and I have never seen the dotted line for passing. I hope that Mr. May and his grandson heal back to normal. God Bless your famiy

That was MY Grandson in the car..todd is his other grandmothers husband,he not his 'grandfather'..........and what this does not say is he was doing 90MPH in a 35 zone and tried to pass 3 cars......with MY grandson in the car...ya know, if he wants to screw up his own life that is one thing, but NEVER should he be allowed to drive with anyone in the car with him again..he should never get his license back period!!.we could have lost this precious boy to stupidity in a split second. My Grandson told me "Memere, a lady stopped to help. She gave me a hug, and said a prayer for me. I knew I would be ok then".....TO THAT LADY WHO STOPPED.........God Bless You...I hope somehow you will know how much I appreciate what you did for my Grandson, and how much you helped him to not be so scared......GOD BLESS YOU.......peace

Posted By:me at October 13, 2008 2:42 PM (Suggest Removal) I am glad that your grandson is doing ok. My prayers are for his full recovery. On the other hand Linda, you should keep in check your obvious disgust for the man who may or may not be your grandsons biological grandfather. He seems to be a part of his life regardless.
