LEWISTON – Andrew Girouard, a senior at the University of Maine in Orono, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Educational Foundation for volunteerism in the community and school.

Majoring in mathematics and secondary education, with a minor in French, Girouard completed his practice teaching at Lisbon High School last semester. He is a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, where he was involved in the community service program for four years.
