BETHEL — The 31st annual Faye Taylor Memorial Art Show put on by the Bethel Historical Society will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at Dr. Moses Mason House Exhibit Hall.
This year’s theme will be “Winter Sports,” which highlights the society’s new exhibit celebrating the history of skiing in the Bethel area. Students of SAD 44 are invited to create artwork showing people skiing, sledding, skating or snowshoeing.
Entries may be in any medium, measure no larger than 12 by 18 inches and contain no writing on the front. They should be delivered to the Dr. Moses Mason House Exhibit Hall by 3 p.m., Friday, May 28, to be considered for ribbons, certificates and cash prizes ($50/$35/$20). Winners will be selected in three divisions: grades 1-2, grades 3-2, and grades 5-6. All entries must include, on the back, the student’s full name, home telephone number, teacher’s name, grade level and school.
The art show honors the memory of Faye Sanborn Taylor (1908-1972), a local landscape painter, who encouraged young people’s creative talents. She was a charter member of the Bethel Historical Society.
