Sue Lori Libby


1960 – 2014

ATLANTA, Ga. — Sue Lori Libby, daughter of Norman and Celena Libby, died Nov. 26, in Atlanta, Ga.

She was born March 17, 1960, in Farmington. She graduated from Effingham County High School in Guyton, Ga.

After living in Georgia, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a computer systems specialist for Congressman Hiller.

For the past 13 years she has lived in Tucker, Ga., where she worked as a store manager.

She liked to travel and explore, especially taking trips to the mountains of Georgia, collecting rocks as mementos. She enjoyed walking in the western Maine woods and touring historical sites around the country. She loved music and played the guitar.

She leaves a son, Joshua Libby of Mount Airy, Ga.; a daughter, Cindy Hawk of New Church, Va.; her sisters, Shirley Libby and husband, Billy Sherrill, of Atlanta, Ga., and Sandra Libby and husband, John Rendon, of Washington, D.C.; her brother, Terry Libby of Strong; and her mother, Celena Libby of Strong. She also leaves five grandchildren, Celena Libby, Kaya Libby and Levi Libby of Mount Airy, Ga. and Austin Hawk and Brayden Hawk from Virginia.

She was predeceased by her father, Norman Libby of Strong.
