Summer Sunday series, ‘Stories of Faith’ begins soon

PARIS – The summer sermon series, “Stories of Faith,” will offer a message of healing and reconciliation as the Rev. Don Mayberry’s guests on Sunday, July 29, are the Rev. Dr. Arthur Rouner and his wife, Molly Rouner, of the Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation.

The Rouners, after retiring from 40 years of pastoral ministry, started the Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation in 1996.

Since that time they have invested their lives taking the message of forgiveness and reconciliation to such parts of the world as Rwanda, Burundi and the Congo.

The Rouners describe their ministry as “intense, three-day, Scripture-based small-group, trauma-healing retreats that provide a safe environment where people can tell their stories, unburden their hearts, discover God’s love, gain a new understanding of forgiveness, seek reconciliation and ultimately work for healing in their communities and their country.”

Summer worship is at 9 a.m., and special music will be provided by Karen Chapman and Carla Phillips. The church, located at 17 East Main St., South Paris, is handicapped accessible and everyone is welcome.

Services are broadcast live at 9 a.m. on AM 1450 in the Oxford Hills and AM 780 in the Rumford-Bethel area.
