In support of honesty, integrity

On June 13, Oxford County will elect a new sheriff. This individual will have the task of organizing and managing personnel who respond to emergencies in the county.

Alan Carr is a 34-year veteran of the law enforcement community and recently retired from the Maine State Police. After retirement, Carr became the chief of the Bethel Police Department, where he manages an extensive budget, as well as the day-to-day activities of a professional staff.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Alan Carr and working with him for the past 10 years. During that time, his knowledge and ability to lead have been influential in my success as a police officer. He is a leader who believes in a hands-on approach type of management.

Carr is highly respected in the law enforcement community. The qualities that have gained this respect include honesty, integrity, professionalism, knowledge and hard work.
