Sylvia M. Pelletier


WEST PARIS – Sylvia M. Pelletier, 85, formerly of Lisbon, passed away on Jan. 23, at Ledgeview Living Center.

She was born in Auburn, on Oct. 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Aubrey Sr. and Ruth (Chaplin) Tower. She was educated in Lewiston schools.

She married Eugene L. Pelletier on June 15, 1940. Together they spent most of their married lives in East Auburn, where they raised their family, until they move to Lisbon in 1990. She worked for many years at K-Mart department store.

She was a former member of the South Lewiston Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She greatly enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and making her decorative dolls and doing crafts. She also greatly enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and reading.

She was the social light of Ledgeview Living Center. She knew everyone there by their first name and they all knew her and loved her presence. They were her extended family.

She is survived by her three children, Penny Bernier, and husband, Joe, of Upton, Gene Jr., and wife, Evelyn, of Norway and Gary and Elizabeth of Virginia; her seven grandchildren, David, Neil, Jennie, Christine, Michelle, Ellen and Susan; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Aubrey Tower Jr., and wife, Joyce, of Lisbon; her sisters-in-law, Anita Faye Tower of Lewiston, Avis Crooker of Connecticut, Leola Bannister of Lewiston and Mary Pelletier of Auburn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Eugene L. Pelletier Sr. Feb. 19, 2001; her parents; a brother, Frank Tower; and a sister, Dawn Tower.

Her family wishes to extended there sincere appreciation to the entire staff and all the residents at the Ledgeview Living Center and to Beacon Hospice Care for all of the love and care shown to Sylvia and her family.
