Sylvia A. Scribner


SOUTH PARIS – Sylvia A. Scribner, 78, of Norway, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Market Square Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 25, 1928, in West Minot to Willard and Dorothy (Pulsifer) Conant. She married Milton Scribner on June 22, 1946.

She had worked for many years for Francine Shoe in Norway and later for Miller Shoe. She had belonged to the Oxford County Extension Group.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Milton of Norway; two daughters, Vicki, and her husband, Glen Merrill, of Waterford and Carol Breton of South Paris; a son, Irving Scribner, and his wife, Hiroko, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Shonn Breton, and his wife, Nicole, of Tomah, Wis., Anthony Scribner of Seattle, Wash., Jillian Diffin, and husband, Eric, of Norway and Mikenzi Merrill of Waterford; two great-grandchildren, Sienna and Ava Breton of Tomah, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Wilson and Mora Clemons; and a brother, Edward Conant.
