AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Mainers frustrated by high taxes won’t let Tax Day pass without raising their voices.
Tax Day tea parties are scheduled in Augusta, Portland and Bangor. And there’s a tea party caravan across Aroostook County traveling from Houlton to Madawaska.
Andrew Ian Dodge of the Maine Tea Party Patriots says the strength of the tea party movement that organized the demonstrations is at the grassroots level.
He says Americans are tired of “top down politics.”
