Technology ‘petting zoo’ at Lewiston Public Library

LEWISTON —The Lewiston Public Library is offering two drop-in events for the public to visit the Maine State Library’s traveling “Technology Petting Zoo.”

The zoo allows people to learn more about ebooks and tablets, and to try the devices.

The petting zoo will include an assortment of popular current ereaders and tablets, including Nook SimpleTouch, Nook HD+, Kindle Fire, Kindle PaperWhite, Apple iPad Mini and Google Nexus.

The sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 13, and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the first floor Jeanne Couture Room.

Librarians will be available to provide assistance and answer any questions about the technology, as well as information on checking out ebooks, digital audiobooks, and ereaders from the library.

Both sessions are free and open to the public.
