LEWISTON — Theresa D. Laflamme, 82, of Maison Marcotte, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 22, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with family at her side.
She was born in Lewiston on July 24, 1927, a daughter of Antonio and Marie Anna (Morissette) Lessard. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.
On Sept. 3, 1949, Theresa married Marcel Laflamme in Lewiston at St. Peter’s Church. She worked hard as a homemaker to take care of the family and create a loving home as she and her husband raised their children.
She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church and among her favorite enjoyments were doing various crafts, shopping and making homemade soup for her family. Theresa thoroughly enjoyed every holiday as she would decorate her home extensively and enjoyed spending those days with her family. She enjoyed going out to eat and absolutely loved Chinese food. She was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She leaves her husband of 61 years, Marcel Laflamme, of Lewiston; her children, Doris Veilleux and husband, Donat, Irene Gagne and husband, Glenn, Sue Vachon and husband, Donald, Nancy Bosse and husband, John, and Daniel Laflamme, all of Lewiston, and special and dear, Lucille Gagnon (Nenou) and Monique; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, with another great-grandson due in June; a brother, Romeo Lessard and wife, Terry, of Lewiston; sister-in-law, Connie Clabby and husband, John, of Lewiston; brother-in-law, Roger Laflamme and wife, Kay, of Connecticut; and sister-in-law, Peggy Laflamme of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Ronald Laflamme.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jeff Brown for his compassion and care, and for Rosie’s visits, the staff of 4-West at d’Youville, and the staff on C-2 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center for the care given to her in her final days.
