Theresa J. Maheux
1943 – 2010
AUBURN — Theresa J. “Terry” Maheux, 66, of Washington Street, Auburn, passed away Friday, April 2, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She was born in Lewiston on June 3, 1943, the daughter of the late Anthony and Germaine Hamel Sullivan. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was happily married to Roger R. Maheux for 46 years.
Prior to her retirement she was employed as an office supervisor at Adelphia. Terry had been recently working part time in the town office in Lisbon. Terry served many years on the board of directors at Great Falls Federal Credit Union.
She enjoyed camping at Moosehead Lake with her family and friends and the peaceful outdoors while her husband went fly fishing. She always looked forward to her extended family camping trips each year. Her favorite time was the Pot Luck day. She would always say, “I’ll bring my beans.” It was the one crock pot sure to be empty.
She enjoyed the many family visits at her home and enjoyed decorating her front porch for each holiday. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in dance recitals, sports, cheering competitions and plays. Her favorite evening pastime was watching NCIS. She loved giving the “Donozo Slap.” Terry loved all her family and dear friends and was a very devoted wife, mom, grandmother and adopted mother. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Roger, of Auburn; a daughter, Sonya Belanger and husband, Paul, of Poland; a son, Dondi Maheux and wife, Cynthia, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Danielle and Spencer Belanger, and Emily and Savanna Maheux; a sister, Mary Richard, of Connecticut; a brother, Thomas Sullivan, and wife, Normande, of Auburn.
