Therese M. Wailus


AUBURN – Therese M. Wailus, formerly of Riverside Drive, Auburn, died April 25 at Odd Fellows Home of Maine, after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on May 29, 1926, the daughter of Modeste and Rose (St. Cyr) Simoneau. She was educated in Lewiston and Auburn schools and married Henry Wailus in November 1951. He died on March 5, 1992.

She was employed at the Hill and Continental mills and later at Holiday Bowling Lanes and retired from General Electric Credit Union. She was an avid bowler and was inducted into the WIBC Bowling Hall of Fame.

She is survived by four daughters, Diane Labbe and husband, Gerard, Doris Caron and husband, Michael, of Lewiston, Donna Verrill of Denmark and Debra Webb of Monmouth; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Simoneau and his wife, Rolande.

She was predeceased by a brother, Roger Simoneau; two sisters, Marie Ange Pelletier and Lillian Baril; and a granddaughter, Jackie Cloutier.
