LIVERMORE FALLS — Thomas Patrick Dineen, 65, a resident of Main Street, Livermore Falls, died suddenly, Tuesday, Jan. 22, at his home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1948, in Biddeford, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Quirk) Dineen. Tom was a 1966 graduate of Biddeford High School. Tom played on the football team and they were the 1966 state champions.
He joined the U.S. Navy in April 1967, and served as a corpsman. Tom was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device Navy Unit Commendation.
He worked for Department of Human Services and also managed group homes. He was a life-member of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 in Jay. He was a history buff, especially military history and he enjoyed traveling and fishing.
He is survived by his sons, Shane Dineen and his wife, Danielle, of Leeds, Timothy Dineen of Virginia, Sean Dineen of New Jersey, and Ian York of Boston, Mass.; daughters, Jennifer Hernandez and her husband, Ricardo and Laura Beth Dineen, both of Virginia, and Libia Moody and her husband, Mike, of New Gloucester; seven grandchildren; his brother, William Dineen of Biddeford; sisters, Cathy Anastasoff and Margaret Dineen, both of Biddeford; his former wife, Penny Mattor of Beverly, Mass.; and close friend, Tina Dolloff of Livermore Falls.
He was predeceased by his parents.
