Thomas Richard Draper


1960 – 2014

NORTH MONMOUTH — Thomas Richard Draper, 53, a resident of Highland Terrace in North Monmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 3, in North Monmouth.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 6, 1960, a son of William and Joan Brown Draper. Tom attended schools in Greene and also attended high school at Leavitt.

On March 27, 1981, he married Diane Ouellette of Lewiston.

Tom worked as a truck driver for NRF in Augusta for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren, and they adored their papa. He lived life to the fullest, was always the life of the party and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was a past master of Webster Lodge in Sabattus and a volunteer for the Greene Fire Department.

Tom is survived by his mother, Joan Draper, of Greene; his wife, Diane Draper, of North Monmouth; two daughters, Ashley Draper of Winthrop and Gina Draper and his son-in-law, Scott Sharples, whom he enjoyed teaching everything he knew, of North Monmouth; four grandchildren, Elliott “Miss B,” Madison “Ham Bone,” Alicia Mae and Landyn “Rooster”; his siblings, Denise and John Rutter of Greene, George and Clio Draper of Wayne, Karen Draper of Greene, his twin sister Theresa and Gary Pearce of Maryland, Wayne and Cynthia Draper of Pittston and Keith Draper of Greene; brother-in-law and best friend, Gary and Doris Witherell; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father.
