 FARMINGTON — Thomas College topped the University of Maine at Farmington 14-5 in North Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse action Wednesday at Prescott Field.

 The Beavers finished their inaugural campaign at 1-9 overall and 0-9 in the NAC. The Terriers (4-8, 3-6) await the NAC postseason seedings.

Josh Colello netted six goals to lead Thomas with Kolby Peckham chipping in four goals and two assists and Sean Machin had two goals and four assists. Kevin Averill provided a goal and three helpers in the win, while Jeff Banville also added a goal.

Patrick Hurley tallied three goals for the Beavers, who were outshot 49-30, with Ethan Gilbert and Casey Morey each registering a goal. Colello scored three times in the opening 2:16 to get Thomas out a 3-0 lead. Peckham followed with a pair of scores to up the advantage to 5-0 with 9:06 left in the first. The Beavers were able to get a Gilbert unassisted goal and tightened defense to only trail 5-1 after the opening quarter.

Farmington hung with the Terriers after a Collelo man-down tally to open the second quarter with Hurley bring the Beavers to within four at 6-2 with 3:59 left in the quarter. Thomas followed with three goals over the final 2:58 of the period to push the lead to 9-2.

Jesse Morkeski made 10 saves in goal for Thomas, while Matthew Nutter stopped 19 shots for Farmington.
