DIXFIELD – Three people have returned nomination papers for two open selectmen’s seats during the June election.
And two people have returned papers for the three open seats on the SAD 21 board.
Deputy Town Clerk Vickie Carrier said incumbent Selectman Brenda Turbide, a resident of Coburn Avenue and member of the Water Advisory Committee, will seek her first, full, three-year term. She won a special election last year to finish out a term begun by former Selectman Steve Donahue.
Also running for selectmen are: Brad Dyer, a Mease Road resident making a first bid for elective office, and Geoffrey Lowe, a Weld Street resident who is on the town’s Finance Committee and serves as the town’s emergency management director.
Longtime Selectman Eugene Skibitsky has chosen not to seek a fourth term.
Incumbent SAD 21 director Leslie Skibitsky, a Blayne Street resident, is seeking another three-year term. Newcomer Melissa Dumeny of Common Road is also running for a seat on the school board.
Incumbents Sonya Fuller and David Berry have chosen not to seek additional terms.
Carrier said the third seat may be filled by write-in votes or by appointment by selectmen.
The election takes place June 13 at the Dixfield fire station.
