Thrift shop unveils new boutique room

BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Hospital Guild Thrift Shop, located next to Reny’s and across from TD Bank, celebrated their grand re-opening on March 19.

The shop has been enlarged, including the addition of a new boutique room of upscale items of clothing, housewares, jewelry, shoes, handbags and more. The new dress mannequin, named Gabriella, will now be featured in the boutique, changing her clothes and accessories as her mood determines.

The day before the grand re-opening, the guild leadership hosted a reception for hospital leaders, guild volunteers, board members and other key individuals. At the reception, Sandra Weygandt, guild president, presented a plaque to Emily and Fred Hammerlee for their tireless efforts throughout the rebuilding process.

Emily Hammerlee serves as the volunteer manager of the thrift shop. In addition, Ellia Manners was recognized and thanked for her planning of the new boutique within the shop. Weygandt thanked everyone who was involved with the project.

The Bridgton Hospital Guild Thrift Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. All funds raised through sales are used to benefit the Bridgton Hospital, purchasing capital equipment for patient needs.

Donations to the shop are tax deductible and receipts are provided. Donations of good quality women’s, men’s, children clothing and accessories, as well as small household goods are accepted.
