Timothy ‘Tim’ Richardson


1939 – 2014

LEBANON, N.H. — Timothy “Tim” Richardson of Island Pond, Vt., died peacefully at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the age of 75.

Tim was born in Rumford on Aug. 15 1939, to Elwood and Marion (Glines) Richardson. He graduated from Gould Academy in 1957. He attended the University of Maine, where he was a member of TKE Fraternity.

He married Margaret Wright of Dixfield in 1962. They had three children together: David, Eric and Robin.

Tim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 20 years of service to care for his father in Hanover. Tim served as a town clerk, treasurer and tax collector in Hanover, until he moved to Florida, where he obtained a degree in electronics. He then returned to New England and eventually moved to Island Pond, Vt.

Tim’s interests varied over the years from skiing, bicycling, camping and tennis to Tai Chi and meditation more recently. Tim enjoyed spending time with his family and his 17-year-old dog, Teddy, more than anything.

Tim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret, of Island Pond, Vt.; and his children, David of Clearwater, Fla., Eric and his wife, Amanda, of Acworth, Ga., and Robin Guyette and her husband, Jeff, of Jericho, Vt. Also surviving are four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Jennie Bartlett.
