BRYANT POND —Tool kits to help seniors age in place will be the topic of a program at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Whitman Memorial Library.
The Age Friendly Community for Bethel and surrounding towns has received a grant to build adaptive tool kits specifically designed to help seniors live safer and easier in their own homes. Samples include rocker knives, seat belt extenders, reacher/grabbers, bathing aids, button and zipper pulls and sock aids.
Jane Chandler will be the presenter, and she will also talk about a new “Neighbor 2 Neighbor” transportation program, which has been added for driving seniors to nonmedical destinations.
The public is invited to the free program, and light refreshments will be served.
