LEWISTON — New England Celtic Arts in partnership with the Franco-American Heritage Center will present the energetic, award-winning Canadian duo of Troy MacGillivray and Kimberley Fraser.

The two musicians will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at the Franco center in Lewiston and Wednesday, March 24, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center in Carthage; and at 7:30 p.m. at Unity College Center for the Performing Arts.

There will be a preshow jam session 45 minutes prior to curtain at all three venues. Audience members are encouraged to bring their instruments and jam with the artists for a few minutes.

Entertaining from a young age, MacGillivray has captivated audiences worldwide with his unique fiddle styling and inspiring piano arrangements. He has, since 1993, conducted many workshops and master classes in both the fiddle and piano traditions.

A 2008 ECMA Award winner, he displays his mastery of fiddle and piano on his fourth CD, “Live At The Music Room.”

Born on Cape Breton Island, Fraser first began to impress audiences at age 3 with her step-dancing talents. Soon after that, she took up the fiddle and the piano. Like many in Cape Breton, music is not new to Kimberley’s family. In fact, she owns the fiddle her great-great grandfather played.

Though still in her early 20s, Fraser’s career is already a distinguished one. She has traveled worldwide and her second studio album, “Falling on New Ground,” won the 2008 East Coast Music Award for Best Roots/Traditional Album of the Year.

Concert tickets are $12 at FAHC; $10 at Skye and Unity. For reservations, call the FAHC at 689-2000, Skye Theatre at 562-4445 or UCCPA at 948-7469. The Franco center is at 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston. Skye Theater is at 2 Highland Drive off Winter Hill Road and U.S. Route 2 in Carthage. UCCPA is at 42 Depot St. in Unity.
