The is in regard to the proposed land swap between Platz Associates and the city of Auburn. Would it not make more sense to simply take the land from Platz by way of eminent domain? It has been done to far less well-to-do individuals and businesses, such as that pizza shop across the bridge.
Is Platz somehow immune to the hammer of justice when it comes to personal property?
He who has the gold, has the rule?
You can break one man, but put 1,000 men together, and good luck.
Also of concern, if the city swaps land with Platz, will the land still be worth $300,000 after the garage is built? I had a personal investor tell me it would probably triple or possibly quadruple in value.
