TV Worldwide Selected to Webcast Emmy Awards for Technology and Engineering


CHANTILLY, VA – TV Worldwide, the first web-based global Internet TV network, announced that it had been selected by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to webcast the 58th Annual Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards, at the 40th International CES Show live from Las Vegas, January 8, 2007 at 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT, at and The webcast will include interviews with industry leaders attending the Emmy Awards ceremony and CES on the latest products, technologies, issues and news concerning the television and advanced media sectors. Technology from Limelight Networks, Fujifilm, DoubleClick, Abacast, CommerceTel, Vividas and Global Streams will actually be featured in the production of the webcast.

The Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards honor achievements in two areas: Science, Engineering & Technology for Broadcast Television, which includes broadcast, cable and satellite distribution, and secondly, Science, Engineering and Technology for Broadband and Personal Television, encompassing interactive television, gaming technology, and for the first time, the Internet, cell phones, private networks, and personal media players. In addition, for the first time, Emmy Awards will be presented for Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Best Use of Personal Media Display and Presentation Technology and for Best Use by Commercials in Creation and Use in Non Traditional Platforms and Technologies.
