Two charged in stolen liquor case in Jay

JAY — Two local men face charges of stealing liquor from the Hannaford store.

Todd Sullivan, 19, and Andrew Goding, 18, were caught on security video, police said. The teenagers each were charged with theft and illegal possession of liquor by a minor, Jay police Sgt. Troy Young said. Sullivan was also charged with violation of condition of release.

The two worked for a subcontractor cleaning floors during the night at the Hannaford supermarket in Jay, Young said.

A loss-prevention investigator looking into why bottles of liquor were missing from the store had reviewed the surveillance tape, Young said. Sullivan and Goding were seen taking the booze, the sergeant said.

Two of the bottles — Smirnoff raspberry vodka and Crown Royal whiskey — were recovered, Young said.

Both men are scheduled to appear in Farmington District Court on March 22.
