‘Two Old Friends’ to appear at Sawyer


GREENE – “Two Old Friends,” Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, will appear at the Sawyer Foundation at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, and 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, May 26.

McHale and Hutchins, known as Mac and Hutch, have joined forces to sing and play songs from Ireland, the mountains and the sea. They were the original founders of Northeast Winds. They traveled and recorded with the Winds for nearly 18 years.

For the last 17 years, McHale has headed a successful group, Mac McHale and the Old Time Radio Gang. Hutchins has been a part of the Angel Band, a world-famous Irish music group.

They will perform some of their favorites from the Northeast Winds as well as old-time traditional country music. The duo will play the banjo, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodran and the octave mandolin.
