Two-vote advantage puts Hufnagel on Board of Selectmen

FARMINGTON — Challenger Andrew “Drew” Hufnagel beat veteran Selectman Dennis Pike by two votes Friday to get elected to the board. Hufnagel got 73; Pike 71.

Incumbent Stephan Bunker retained his seat on the board with 106 votes, Town Clerk Leanne Pinkham said.

It was the first time the town has held elections the day before the annual town meeting, and voter turnout was light. A total of 119 voters cast ballots at the Community Center, and there were 14 absentee ballots, she said.

School board Chairman Ray Glass received 119 votes and Monique Claverie got 105 votes to be elected to the board, Pinkham said. Claverie succeeds Yvette Robinson, who did not run.

The annual town meeting begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Community Center.
