UMF program focuses on postmodern dance

FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington will present a multimedia program on postmodern dance by Bangor Ballet’s Heinrick Snyder. The fusion of historical reflection, video montage and dance will be presented at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, in Lincoln Auditorium in UMF’s Roberts Learning Center.

The event will open with “Random Campus,” a video montage and dance performance that celebrates the postmodern dance movement. It will be followed by a lecture, “Creating Postmodern Value through Dance,” based on Snyder’s research into the evolution of postmodern ideas in America.

Snyder has enjoyed a long career in the arts in Maine. He performs with the Bangor Ballet and has worked with both the Robinson Ballet in Bangor and the Bossov Theatre Ballet in Pittsfield.

This event is free and open to the public.
