AUBURN – Junior guard Ben Hartnett hit a trio of 3-pointers to help unbeaten Edward Little hold off Erskine Academy in a 53-50 victory in boys’ KVAC basketball.
Troy Barnies scored a game-high 17 points and Travis Barnies added 11 points for the Red Eddies (14-0).
Erskine’s Pete and Jack Garrity kept the Eagles (6-8) close in the first half, connecting on five of their six 3-pointers to trail the Eddies 27-25 at the half. Pete Garrity finnished with 15 points whle Jack Garrity contibuted with 12 points.
Mt. Blue 90, Old Town 42
FARMINGTON – Isaiah Braithwaite poured in 26 points to lead Mt. Blue to an easy 90-42 victory over Old Town.
The Cougars (12-3) raced out to leads of 19-6, 35-17, and 61-27 at the quarter breaks. Jamie Russell added 14 points and Joe Gilbert and Noah Paytas had 10 apiece for Mt. Blue. Corey Fournier scored 11 to lead Old Town.
Boothbay 70, Mt. Abram 29
BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Senior guard Owen Johnson notched a game-high 15 points and 14 rebounds to propel Boothbay to a 70-29 rout over Mt. Abram.
Johnson provided 13 first-half points as the Seahawks (12-2) took a 39-13 lead into intermission. Senior forward Roy Arsenault and junior center Kris Noonan contributed 12 points each for Boothbay.
Senior guard Wyatt Johnson led the Roadrunners (4-10) with 12 points.
Cony 63, Oxford Hills 39
AUGUSTA – Junior forward Andrew Pullen notched a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead Cony to a 63-39 triumph over Oxford Hills in KVAC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Rams (11-3) nearly shut the door on Oxford Hills in the first quarter, taking a 10-1 lead, before extending it to a 29-15 margin at the half. Senior forward Chris Thurston also posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while John DeMerchant recorded eight steals for Cony.
Senior guard Ben Goodall was the leading scorer for the Vikings (5-8) with eight points, including one from beyond the arc.
Lisbon 58, Carrabec 46
LISBON – Junior Steve Michaud scored eight of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter to help lead Lisbon beat Carrabec 58-46 in a boys’ MVC matchup.
Lisbon outscored the Cobras 20-7 in the third period to pull away.
Michaud also add 16 rebounds. Freshman Scott Eck chipped in with 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers for the Greyhounds (2-12). Jake Goodwin, Nick Manzer and Gino Houle all each led Carrabec (1-13) with 10 points apiece.
Morse 60, Lewiston 51
BATH – Senior forward Devin Hook posted 17 points to lead Morse to a 60-51 victory over Lewiston in a KVAC basketball game Saturday.
The Shipbuilders (4-10) topped Lewiston by four points in each of the first two quarters to take a 28-20 halftime lead. Junior guard Nate Cloutier contributed 13 points, while Alex Kee added another 10 for Bath.
The Blue Devils (3-11) made a late run to keep the game within reach. Jarrid Palmer and Eddie West shared a team-high 15 points each for Lewiston.
Falmouth 55, Poland 45
POLAND – Falmouth hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter en route to a 55-45 win over Poland.
Adam Packard led all scorers with 21 points, including a trio of 3s. Brady Forst chipped in with eight points for the Yachtsmen.
Senior guard Mimi Knowles paced the Knights (5-9) with 15 points, while Joe Douglass added 10 points.
Brunswick 54, Leavitt 42
TURNER – Corey Underwood scored 17 points and Travis O’Dell added 14 to lead Brunswick to a 54-42 win over Leavitt in KVAC boys’ basketball Saturday.
Brunswick (8-6) built a 14-8 lead in the opening quarter and expanded that advantage to 25-17 by halftime.
Leavitt (6-8) got nine points from Tyler Millett and seven each from Brian Taylor and Cameron Angell.
Telstar 50, Madison 49
MADISON – Andy Whitney drained a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining for the winning margin as Telstar edged Madison 50-49 in MVC basketball.
Whitney scored five of his nine points in the final quarter, and the Rebels (7-8) went five-for-five at the free-throw line down the stretch to ice the win. Louis Thornton scored 16 points to pace Telstar.
Ezra Gourley powered the Tigers (1-13) with 19 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Gabe Fernandez hit four 3-point shots for 12 points.
Georges Valley 72, Jay 40
THOMASTON – Senior guard Nate Frisbee laid the groundwork with 15 points, six assists and six steals as Georges Valley cruised to a 72-40 victory over Jay in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Buccaneers (10-4) executed a fine display of defensive pressure, collecting 29 steals in the winning effort. Senior center Charlie Johanson shared a game-high 15 points with Frisbee, while Brandon Staples recorded nine rebounds and six assists.
Junior guard Nick Bourassa tallied 11 points for the Tigers (4-10), while Austin Clark contributed 10 points in the loss.
Hebron 4, Kents Hill 0
HEBRON – Hebron goaltender Kevin Crosby made 14 saves to post a 4-0 shutout win over Kents Hill.
Hebron received goals from Kyle Tobin, Joe King, Matt Pedemonti in the second period. David Woods added a tally in the third for the Lumberjacks.
Poland-GNG 6, South Portland 2
HEBRON – Cory Cormier scored a natural hat trick in the first period to lift Poland-Gray New Gloucester to a 6-2 triumph over South Portland.
In addition to his three first-period goals, Cormier added two more goals and an assist for the Patriotic Knights (6-8). Poland goalie Sean Bilodeau turned away 31 shots. Robbie Morong stopped 43 shots for South Portland (2-9).
EL 9, Skowhegan 0
AUBURN – Goaltender Adam Loudermilk recorded his first varsity shutout, and senior Corey LaRue scored a couple of first-period goals and assisted on another to help lead Edward Little to a 9-0 victory over Skowhegan.
Matt Nyholm had a couple of goals while Billy Brewster and Chris Carver each added a goal and a pair of assists for the Red Eddies (7-4-1).
Skowhegan (4-8) goalie, Jimmy Quirion made 23 saves in a losing effort.
